Calling Features

Call Waiting (Included)

You can use your telephone without missing other calls. A special tone alerts you to a waiting call; the person calling you hears normal ringing.

To answer a waiting call:

  1. When you’re on the phone, a special tone tells you a second call is waiting.
  2. Simply press the FLASH button or press and quickly release the switchhook. Your first caller is automatically placed on hold, while you’re connected with the second caller.
  3. To temporarily turn off call waiting before making a call:
  4. Push the talk button or pick up handset to get dial tone.
  5. Press *70 or 70#
  6. Listen for the confirmation tone.
  7. Dial the telephone number you wish to call. After you hang up from your call, call waiting automatically turns on again.

Three Way Calling (Included)

Use when you are talking with someone and you want to add a third person to the call.

  1. Press the FLASH button to place the first person on hold. If using a phone with a switch hook, quickly press and release for same effect.
  2. Listen for dial tone.
  3. Dial the third person’s #.
  4. When the 3rd person answers, you can talk privately before making it a 3-way conversation.
  5. To make the 3-way connection, press FLASH button again. You can now talk with both people at the same time.

To cancel the three-way call:

If the third person did not answer or you wish to disconnect them, just press and quickly release the FLASH button. You’ll be reconnected to the person holding.

Or, if either of the two people hang up, you can continue talking with the remaining person.

To end the call completely:

Simply hang up.

Speed Dialing 8 (Included)

You can enter up to eight telephone numbers into your Speed Calling list. Then you can reach those people by dialing just one digit. (Digit must be between 2 through 9).

To program your Speed Dialing List:

  1. Push talk button or lift handset for dial tone.
  2. Press *74.
  3. Listen for the dial tone.
  4. Dial a one-digit speed code (2 through 9).
  5. Dial the telephone number you wish to assign to that speed code.
  6. Listen for the confirmation tone.
  7. To call someone on your list:
  8. Push talk button or lift handset for dial tone.
  9. Dial the one-digit speed code, then press the # key.

Speed Dialing 30 (Included)

You can enter up to 30 telephone numbers into your Speed Calling list. Then you can reach those people by dialing just two digits. (Digits must be between 20 – 49).

To program your Speed Dialing list:

  1. Push talk or life handset for dial tone.
  2. Press *75.
  3. Listen for the dial tone.
  4. Dial a two-digit speed code (20-49).
  5. Listen for confirmation tone.
  6. To call someone on your list:
  7. Push talk or lift handset for dial tone.
  8. Dial the two-digit speed code, then press the # key.
  9. To review your speed dial list:
  10. Push talk or lift handset for dial tone.
  11. Dial *78 to review Speed Dialing 8 list OR *79 to review Speed Dialing 30 list.

An announcement plays the speed dial list, complete with the telephone numbers.

Call Forwarding (Included)

You can program your calls to ring at another number. Each time a call is forwarded, your phone will make one short ring. It can still be used to make outgoing calls.

To turn ON call forwarding:

  1. Push talk or lift handset for dial tone.
  2. Press *72.
  3. Listen for the confirmation tones.
  4. Dial the number where you want your calls forwarded (include area code if needed).
  5. Listen for confirmation tones.
  6. To turn OFF call forwarding:
  7. Push talk or lift handset for dial tone.
  8. Press *73.
  9. Listen for confirmation tone, and then hang up.

Your call forwarding is now off and calls will ring normally to your phone.

Caller ID Name & Number (Included)

This features gives you more information about the incoming call you are receiving. Caller ID Name and Number will display the name registered to the caller and the number associated with that number. This information is displayed when available and provided to us. This feature requires proper equipment by customer for the display to function properly.

Here is how Caller ID Name and Number works:

When you receive a call, wait until your telephone completes the first ringing signal.

The telephone number and name will automatically appear on your display screen.

Caller ID Blocking (Included)

This feature allows you to block your name and or number from appearing on the Caller Id display of the person receiving your call. Instead, a “Private” notification will be displayed. Two types of Caller ID blocking are available.

Here’s How Per-Call Blocking works:

  1. Push talk or lift handset for dial tone.
  2. Press *67. Listen for confirmation tone and then dial tone.
  3. Dial the number you are calling as usual.
  4. The person you have called will not be able to see your number displayed on their telephone display screen.
  5. You must dial *67 each time you wish to place a call that is to be blocked.

**If you wish to block your information on ALL calls, please request to have ‘Caller ID Blocking’ added to your account. This will block all calls all of the time. There is a monthly charge for this service.

To Unblock All Calls Blocking:

Push talk or lift handset for dial tone.

Press *82.

Dial the number you are calling and your number will be unblocked for this call only

Personal Account Code (Extra Charge)

This feature will allow you to put in a PIN (Personal Identification Number) on your outbound long distance calls. This will enable only consumers who know the PIN to make long distance calls. Please contact us to activate this feature on your account and choose a 4 digit PIN, there is a monthly charge for this service.

To use your Personal Account Code:

  1. Dial desired long distance number.
  2. You will hear a recording stating this call cannot be completed, upon hearing that…
  3. Enter your 4-digit personal account code (PIN).

Call will then be completed.

Anonymous Call Rejection (Extra Charge)

This feature will refuse calls for those who have blocked their number from your Caller ID display. The caller will hear an announcement that you do not accept anonymous calls and that they should remove blocking and call back. All other calls will ring through as usual.

This feature must be activated via our office and there is a monthly charge for it.

Call Forwarding/Busy Line (Included)

This feature automatically redirects incoming calls to a pre-designed telephone number when your line is busy. This feature is automatically on all bundled phone lines.

To Turn Off the Service:

  1. Push talk or lift handset for dial tone.
  2. Press*91.
  3. Listen for the confirmation tone, followed by dial tone. Call Forward is now turned off.

Call Forwarding/No Answer (Included)

This feature automatically redirects all calls to a predesignated telephone number when your telephone is not answered within a specific amount of time.

Here's how Call Forwarding No Answer works:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *92.
  3. Listen for confirmation tones followed by a dial tone.
  4. Dial the number where you want your calls forwarded.
  5. Listen for confirmation tones followed by a dial tone.
  6. To turn off the service:
  7. Lift the handset and listen for a dial tone.
  8. Press *93.
  9. Listen for the confirmation tone, followed by a dial tone. Your Call Forwarding No Answer is now "off".
  10. To change the "forward to" number:

Turn off Call Forwarding No Answer as directed above.

Repeat the steps above to turn on Call Forwarding No Answer, entering the new "forward to" number.

Priority Call (Extra Charge)

With this feature you'll know when someone special is calling. You will make a list of special callers, and your phone will use a special ring to announce calls from any of those numbers.

Here's how Priority Call works:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *61 (on rotary phones dial 1161).
  3. Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off. The recorded voice will then tell you how many numbers are currently stored on your list.
  4. Follow the voice instructions and choose from the following options:
  5. Press 3 to turn on/off.
  6. Press 1 to review your list.
  7. Press # to add a number.
  8. Press * to delete a number.

Voicemail (Extra Charge)

We offer home phone users the option of Voicemail on the line. You can disconnect that old answering machine and go with this feature.

With this we offer the option of voicemail to e-mail, in which you can have a .wav file e-mailed directly to you!

Selective Call Rejection (Extra Charge)

This feature allows you to create a reject list of up to 10 directory numbers. Calls from these 10 numbers will receive a fast busy. The subscribers phone will not work.

Here's how Selective Call Rejection works:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
  2. Press *60.
  3. Press 3 to turn on/off.
  4. Add an entry to the reject list by dialing # Telephone Number #.
  5. Remove an entry from the list by dialing * Telephone Number *.
  6. To add the last caller to your rejection list:
  7. Press #01#.

Selective Call Forwarding (Extra Charge)

This feature allows you to create a list of numbers and program a forwarding number. When someone on your list calls, their call will ring at the forwarding number location. All other calls ring to your line as normal.

Here's how Selective Call Forwarding works:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *63 (on rotary phone, dial 1163).
  3. Listen for an announcement telling you whether this feature is currently on or off.
  4. Upon the first time use, an annoucement prompts the subscriber to enter the number that calls will be forwarded to, followed by the pound sign (#).
  5. Choose from the following options:
  6. Press 3 to turn on/off.
  7. Press 1 to review your list.
  8. Press # to add a number to your list.
  9. Press * to delete a number from your list.
  10. Press 0 to hear the annoucement again.

To add the last caller to your forward list:

  1. Press #01#.
  2. To enter the "forward to" number:

The first time you turn on the service, you will be asked to enter the number you would like your special calls forwarded to. From then on, the system will remind you of the current "forward to" number.

If the current number is correct, dial 1.

If you wish to change the current "forward to" number, dial 0 and then follow the voice instructions.

Customer Originated Call Trace (Extra Charge)

How it works:

When you receive a harassing call, you can dial a simple code to trace the source of that call for the telephone company.

How to use:

  1. Hang up on the call.
  2. Pick the phone back up immediately.
  3. Press *57.
  4. Listen to prompts.
  5. Hang up.
  6. Call your local telephone company.

The number you traced will be recorded at the telephone company. If you decide to follow up on the matter, wel'll provde that number to local authorities.

Continuous Redial (Included)

This feature redials a busy number for you, then alerts you when the line becomes available.

Here's how Continuous Redial works:

  1. When you hear a busy signal, hang up.
  2. Pick up the handset again and listen for a normal dial tone.
  3. Press *66. Hang up.
  4. Your phone will check the number for up to 30 minutes.
  5. A special callback ring alerts you if the line becomes free.
  6. Pick up the handset to automatically place the call.

Last Call Return (Included)

This feature allows you to find out who called you if you could not get to the phone in time.

Here's how Last Call Return works:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for a normal dial tone.
  2. Press *69 and follow the prompts.
  3. Your phone number will dial the last number of the last incoming call.
  4. If the line is busy:
  5. Hang up. Your phone will keep trying the line for up to 30 minutes.
  6. A special callback ring alerts you if the line becomes free.
  7. Pick up the handset to automatically place the call.
  8. To cancel your Last Call Return:
  9. Press *89.

Telemarketer Call Screening (Extra Charge)

Who enjoys telemarketing calls? Answer is NO ONE!!! We can ease your pain with Telemarketer Call Screening! All calls to you with the Caller ID showing unavailable, unknown, out of area, restricted, private, or anonymous will receive the following announcement: "The number you have reached does not accept calls from telemarketers. If you are a telemarketer, please add this number to your do not call list and hang up now. Otherwise, dial "1". Telemarketers are regulated, by law, upon receiving this announcement to remove you from their list of numbers. Easy as pie!
